Cowboy R and the Anticipation

Dream Door

I think that the hours between being notified that my financial aid has been released to my bank, and the bank acknowledging that I actually have money, are some of the longest hours I've ever experienced.

I have a few things I need to buy here in Tucson, but I can't until I have money, which might be anytime between tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning. I've told [info]nytemiste that I'd come up and visit her in Colorado, but I don't have gas money until the deposit is credited to my account, either.

So... I'm in limbo. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Yes, and there's always something like that in life . . . something on which we must wait. Usually money. =) Be the first in your family to win the lotter and not have to worry about that any more! LOL!

Hey kinda off subject but your mentioning your trip to CO made me think of it.

Do you have any interest in attending an ADF festival in the Tucson area in May? My friends at the Sonora Desert Grove are putting on Desert Magic again. There will be a large heathen presence. Thought you might like to come.

If so email me at madannerack @ yahoo dot com and I will forward info on.

There are a number of contingencies in there... What part of May? Finals week is in there, after all, so it may not be the best time. Also? What's an ADF?

The Festival is May 7-10 at a place called The C.O.D. Ranch near Tucson.

ADF is an international Indo European Pagan organization of which I am a member. They promote scholarly research into reconstructionist religions and have a strong focus on public ritual (ie serving the folk) They have very strong roots in Celtic trad so they call themselves druids and their little groups around the world are called groves. But their members follow several IE paths including Heathenry. Several members of the hosting grove are heathen so it tends to be a good time for Heathens to gather and have fun.

The website with info is here...http://www.ssg-adf.org/desertmagic.htm

That sounds very cool, but, as I said, finals week... I'll have to see. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I totally understand the finals thing - School has to come first. But we'd love to have you there! And I think you'd meet some more local folks that you would enjoy.

Where in Colorado?

Lafayette... is that anyplace close to where you are?

Mostly - if you are counting close in Western State Travel terms.

Lafayette is slightly North West of Denver Metro, and we are about an hour, hour and a half south of Denver.

If you do the New Mexico Highway Route (North to Flag, 40 east out of Flag and then 25 North from Albuquerque) then you'll be driving right through Colorado Springs on your way to Lafayette.

I'd like to see y'all again, and had made it a plan to stop in and say hey. Mapquest is advising me to take AZ89 up through Page, though... an 11 hour drive, and it bypasses Colorado Springs. It only adds about half an hour to the drive, though, to go through Albuquerque, so maybe... we'll see what the time on each leg is, when I get money, and when I get on the road.

Melissa will be working at least some of the days I'm in CO, so maybe I'll just add a side trip to come down and say hey... you're not working during the days, right? Are the urchins in school?

I've taken that route before and am not fond of it in Winter, but yes, it is a faster route altogether if the roads are any kind of decent condition.

Well, technically, except for the occasional daycare I provide to a local family, I'm not working at all, and it is just as easy to duck out of watching any children but my own. I've nearly always got a bit of house work to catch up on, but I'm also very nearly always here during the day.

Wynter and Cheyenne are in half day pre-school at the moment but Nevaeh is at home with me all day.

So really unless it is grocery day I am only gone for short periods:

From 1130 to 1230 I'm getting the girls from school
I sometimes take the kid who rents from us to his job - if he opens that happens at 0930, and if he closes at 1545.

If you can't fit it in the schedule that's cool too. I'm still planning on an Arizona trip eventually. It was a shame that the gas prices kicked the hell out of my bank account this last summer, but eventually I'll have money again.

Well, here's what it looks like... I'll leave Tucson tomorrow, drive up to Flagstaff, stop and pick up a couple of things and do some laundry, have some lunch, and get back on the road. At some point, I'll reach a breaking point, and I'll stop and get a room at a motel. Thorsday, I'll drive on up to Colorado Springs, we can have lunch or what have you, and then I'll drive on up to Lafayette.
