Cowboy R and the Bad, No Good, Aweful Mood

I'm in a pretty crappy mood at the moment. I have been all day, actually. The smallest things are grating on my nerves.

And, while I could provide examples, I think I'm just going to leave it at that, and say, "Fooey."

Good night, and good luck.

Cowboy R and the Bank

I bank with a credit union, because, for the most part, they don't pull the kind of sleazy crap that banks do. However, I've now had to deal with some of the sleaziest crap I've ever encountered from a bank.

I get paid on Mondays, by direct deposit. So yesterday, feeling confident that I'd just been paid, I went to the ATM, and pulled out cash to pay a bill. Now, keep in mind that I don't have a credit card. This same bank has turned me down in the past to get a signature loan -- they've made it very clear that they don't consider me a good credit risk. But, because yesterday was a bank holiday -- Columbus Day, which, honestly, I had no idea that it was -- they hadn't run the credits / debits, and my paycheck hadn't been deposited. But the ATM gave me $220, anyway.

This triggered twelve separate $25 NSF fees. That's $300. Which means that not only is the rest of my paycheck gone, I'm $163 in the hole.

I'm on the phone now, talking to a representative of the bank. I swear that if this doesn't get resolved, I'm pulling all business out of their bank. I'm so pissed off, I can't even speak clearly.

Upshot: They were "willing" to give me back $150, but not the whole thing. So I'm "only" $13 in the hole. I'm closing my account... unfortunately, I can't even open another account someplace else, because I have no money for the next two weeks, so they're going to get their $13, plus whatever fees they levy for my being in the red for the next two weeks.

I am so angry.
