Paper written and submitted. I'd like to take a moment, and thank you all for taking the time to respond to my question. Since the assignment required me to poll people not in my class, I would have had a much harder time completing it if not for all of you wonderful and generous people.

I have to write a paper on a topic, for my linguistics class, and I need to poll friends who are not in the class. So, friends who are not in the class, please take a moment to write me a comment (and I'm screening comments for this entry, until after the paper is written, so y'all can't see what each other have written) that tells me what you think of the idea that some languages are harder to learn than others. Please also include what your native language is, what other languages you may have studied, and if you consider yourself fluent in those languages.
